Apply for a free B&Q gift card up to £250 to create a new wildlife habitat in your community
Have a Wild Weekend for Wales aims to improve biodiversity by assisting people to undertake small projects to benefit native species of plants and animals and to create new wildlife havens.
You can help improve the biodiversity of Wales by planting a tree or building a bug box and Keep Wales Tidy in partnership with B&Q want to assist you by offering free gift vouchers. We are particularly keen to see projects that are targeted towards the protection of some of Wales’s most endangered wildlife species; such as the building of otter holts or construction of owl boxes.
Projects have to take place on publicly-accessible land with permission and must result in the creation of a new wildlife habitat.
Who can apply?
Community groups, schools, organisations, families and individuals.
What can you buy?
Native trees, bulbs, seeds and shrubs, small hand tools, peat-free compost, FSC timber, gloves and materials to build a pond can all be bought using the free B&Q vouchers.
You will not be able to buy power tools, clothing (excluding gloves), chemical sprays, garden furniture/ornaments/paving, sheds and greenhouses, lighting, compost bins or first aid kits.
